ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Brian Maher described to the club the Hudson Valley Honor Flight – which is geared toward providing WWII veterans transportation to the monument in DC with a chartered flight equipped with Guardians.  The start-off to the day includes meeting at Shoprite in Montgomery with a motorcade of bikes, fire department and police to Stewart Airport.  

Funding for these flights are done by fundraisers in the form of Spaghetti dinners, for which we may coordinate one in conjunction with the Middletown and Minisink Club.

With us today on his official club visit, 

District Governor Bill Bassett spoke about the following:

* The importance in attending the district conference

The Peace Pole Project of promoting peace through service.

District Wide Topics:
    - Youth Exchange – spearheaded by Chairman David Greenwood
    - Polio Plus – spearheaded by Bunnee Webb
    - Radio Rotary – a public relations venue for Rotary
    - Bill’s message to all the clubs in the district (63 in total) are to obtain goals.  Bill’s goals are as follows:
        1. Membership – goal is 3% net increase
        2. Foundation – world community service committee
        3. Peace – through service
        4. Literacy – Need volunteers/tutors
        5. Have Fun!
