Wallkill East Rotary and the Pine Bush Interact Clubs stepped up big time in order for S.T.E.P (Schools To End Poverty) to reach their goal of $82,000 before June 30, 2016.

District Governor Nick Constantino made a bold promise at last years district conference to the co-founders of S.T.E.P Eddie Frank and Howard Goldin that he would promote their goal and do everything in his power to help them reach it.

In turn Wallkill East as Nick's home club promised to do everything they could to raise funds towards that goal.  From that promise the Kids & Cookies concept was born.

A second coin drop at Sam's Club in Middletown and a fantastic Fund Raising effort at our annual Turkey Trot allowed Wallkill East to present S.T.E.P. a check for $5,000 at Nick's district conference putting S.T.E.P. over their goal.  It was both timely and appropriate that Nick's home club put S.T.E.P. over the top at Nick's district conference.

That check combined with the first check of $2,500 brings the total contribution from Wallkill East to $7,500. Almost 10% of the total Goal!
