ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Bela handed out more raffle tickets and encouraged people to sell away!  Proceeds from this fundraiser allow us to continue our work in the community, service projects as well as donations to other organizations.  Tickets will be sold until April 10th and our 5 winners will be drawn at our April 17th meeting.

Our club nominated Alanna Smith from BOCES for the district's Non-Rotarian Vocational Service Award.  Alanna was selected as the Region 5 winner and her name has been submitted to the district.

SPEAKER(S):
Jan Miller is Chair of the district's World Community Service Committee.  There are three funds- Annual, World, and Permanent Funds.  Paul Harris money goes to the Annual Fund.  The committee is charged with determining how the money is used.  Our district can spend up to 50% of money for block grants to specific clubs;  other 50% to global grants and project areas that Rotary supports- peace & conflict, maternal health, disease prevention, education and literacy, economic development, and water & sanitation.  A letter of interest for a project may be submitted to the committee with project particulars.  The club would have 9-11 months to complete project and would submit progress reports as well as a final report.
