ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Today is the last day to donate school supplies for Jill Weed's 'Backpacks for for all Children' project.

Lauren gave a few Wiffle updates:  $11,500 in sponsorships so far, 12 Corporate Challenge teams with a few more in the hopper, Family Fun Fest is shaping up, and we had some great press in Barbara Bedell's column last week.  We do still need competitive teams!!  We will also be doing a demonstration of a Wiffleball game at next week's Rotary meeting- show up and see what it's all about!

SPEAKER(S):
Andy Komanchak first was a volunteer for the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor through Senator Larkin, but is now the Executive Director.  Medals are presented to those who are wounded or killed in combat.  There are over 1.7 million recipients of the Purple heart.  The Hall of Honor is the repository for the records of those presented Purple Hearts.  The hall is looking to create a database so people can do research via computers.  They are also looking to expand the hall with representation from all five branches of service.  Finally, the hall is looking to create a Wall of Honor "billboard" with photos of ALL those who raised their hands and said, "I'll serve."  If you have photos you can send them directly to Andy.  September 29, 1918 marks the date that 19 Orange County men were killed in the battle of the Hindenburgh Line.  Andy is looking for relatives of these 19 men to participate in an event they are hosted this year on September 29, officially Orange County Veterans Memorial Day, and also encouraged folks to attend the event and bring their families out.  Click the link below for the official flyer and more details as well as Andy's contact information.
