Announcements:
Suzanne Forni was inducted as our newest club member by her sponsor Nick Constantino. She is a Pine Bush graduate and was previously in real estate for six years. She lived briefly in Colorado, but moved back to the area recently and wants to get more involved with the community. She is currently the Director of Maketing at Glen Arden.

Speaker:
John Ward updated us on many things that are happening in the Town of Wallkill. Many municipalities are struggling in this tough time right now, but Wallkill does actually have some growth. Presidential Containers is moving into the area (old Wakefern site) and will create 250 jobs. Time Warner Cable is also expanding its facility on Tower Drive. The old Caldor Plaza is starting to fill up and the town is negotiating with Christmas Tree Shops about moving into the space where Linens-N-Things used to be. There is not much residential activity and the mortgage tax is down dramatically as a result. The budget process for next year is starting soon and although the budget was "bare bones" for this year they will still need to make some cuts. The hospital opening next year will be a great asset for the town and the community. A few questions were asked about various road projects in the town. 1) The road planned to connect the Galleria mall to the old Orange Plaza will be started in 2012 and open in 2013. Unfortunately, the state has put a hold on spending in 2011. 2) The reconstruction of Exit 122 on Route 17 will start next year. The ramps to hospital and east bound side will be completed first as Phase I. Phase II- the westbound exits- does not have a start date yet.
