ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Tomorrow is the Going Behind Bars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association – two of our members, Kim Imholz and Nick Constantino will be “arrested” and have been raising “bail” money.  Anyone wishing to contribute can visit the MDA website:  www.mdalockup.org/middletownlockup to make a donation.

Evan Bates – who took on the clean-up and re-design of the area around our sign as part of his Eagle Project will be honored at the Eagle Scout Program on Saturday, April 13.  Harold will be presenting Evan with a certificate from the Wallkill East Rotary for all he did to improve the location.

Everyone was reminded that the District Conference will be held May 17 through the 19 at Honor’s Haven in Ellenville.  As we are the host club, there are many areas of service that the committee is looking for assistance with.  Steve passed around a sign-up sheet looking for volunteers.

Bela thanked everyone for their help with the selling of Tax Relief Raffle tickets at the Wallkill ShopRite on Saturday, April 6.  He also reminded everyone that all tickets and money need to be turned in by next Tuesday’s meeting, as the winners will be pulled during that meeting.  Anyone who will not be attending the meeting and have sold tickets were encouraged to drop them off to Kim at KVI Uniforms or Alan at Allstate.

On Friday, April 5, the Boys and Girls Club held their Annual Celebrity Dinner and again it was a great success.  Several members of the club participated and were congratulated for their efforts and time devoted in preparation of the dinner.

Walter requested at least two members to assist with the RYLA Interviews which will be held on Thursday, April 11 beginning at 10:30am at the Pine Bush High School.  Kathy Hankins and Kim Imholz volunteered their time.  Walter noted that this year there are 13 applicants; 3 Scholarships will be awarded: Wallkill East Rotary will be sponsoring 2 applicants and the Pine Bush Interact Club will be sponsoring 1 applicant.

Welcome back Jim!  It is great to have Jim back from Florida; he indicated that he and Pat enjoyed themselves and while there he did make-up meetings.

SPEAKER:

Dawn Ansbro, Executive Director of the Orange County Art’s Council, gave a very informative overview of the Art’s Council and some of the exciting projects that they have going on.
