ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Suzanne Forni has been officially reinstated to the Wallkill East Rotary. Welcome Suzanne!
The District Conference is May 17 – 19 at Honor’s Haven in Ellenville. The deadline for room reservations has passed; there is still time to make reservations for the various sessions of the Conference as well as the Saturday Night Top Hat Dinner. It was stated that there was additional money in the budget for the Conference and since all other expenses have been met, a decision was made to use the money to offset the costs of Wallkill East members planning on attending portions of the conference. Steve Plain passed around a sign-up sheet requesting help from Club members during the conference.
Everyone was reminded that there is still time to contribute towards the Every Rotarian Every Year ($100.00 per active Rotarian).
SPEAKER:
Lou Ingrassia, who is the Town of Wallkill Commissioner of Public Works, gave an informative presentation of some of the things currently going on in the Town of Wallkill; some of which included information about the connecting tunnel between the Galleria Mall and the Orange Plaza; the proposed traffic cameras along the 211 corridor; and the restructuring of the Circleville Park.
